BIOGRAPHY
Art, Design & Technical Drawing were favourite subjects at secondary school. I was lucky to have an awesome set of teachers which made the learning much easier and definitely more enjoyable. It set me off on a lifelong love of abstract & graphic art and also surrealism & pop art.
Finishing my ‘A’ Levels at 18 years old with ‘A’ grades in both Art and Design left me at a crossroads - a scholarship to Central Saint Martins being one route that was offered. Life takes its twists and turns and I headed along a different career path away from the art world but still keeping a keen interest and always thinking/hoping that one day I’d find myself back on the creative path.
Now at 50+ years old I find myself literally ‘working on the periphery of the art world’. That literal periphery being high-end picture framing. I have been previously running the woodworking department at PictureFrames of Shaftesbury and am now occupying the role of Co-General Manager. It’s a very creative atmosphere to be working in, amongst a group of very capable individuals and alongside/for very talented local, national and internationally acclaimed artists.
Working with art every day has stirred my own creative juices again and I am finding myself back in front of a canvas, board or blank sheet of art paper eager to create.
